چکیده

PISTON is a machine independent software framework for developing scientiic applications on parallel computers. It presents a consistent data-parallel distributed memory model across a wide range of architectures. It has been implemented on the Fujitsu AP1000 as well as on SIMD and SMP machines. This paper brieey describes the implementation of PISTON on the AP1000 and presents timing results and analysis for that implementation. Overheads such as the time taken for data redistribution and for negotiation of data type and layout are presented for an example terrain rendering application originally written to run under PISTON on the MasPar MP-1. The results identify areas in which the performance of PISTON on the AP1000 could be optimized.

Experimental study of piston scuffing effect on engine performance parameters

Piston scuffing is one of the destructive faults in internal combustion (IC) engines. There are different causes to make this fault that lack of lubricant is the most important one among them. The purpose of this paper is the quantitative study of the piston scuffing effects on the engine performance parameters which is a new research direction in the IC engine filed. For this reason, several e...

Investigation of the effect of piston geometrical parameters on RCCI engine performance based on second law of thermodynamic

The reactivity controlled compression ignition engines have high thermal efficiency and low exhaust emission of nitrogen oxides and soot because of low temperature combustion. In this type of engines, low reactivity fuel is injected to air through intake port and high reactivity fuel is injected into the combustion chamber during compression stroke. The aim of current study is to investigate th...

An Investigation on the Effects of Gas Pressure Drop in Heat Exchangers on Dynamics of a Free Piston Stirling Engine

This paper is devoted to study the effects of pressure drop in heat exchangers on the dynamics of a free piston Stirling engine. First, the dynamic equations governing the pistons as well as the gas pressure equations for hot and cold spaces of the engine are extracted. Then, by substituting the obtained pressure equations into the dynamic relationships the final nonlinear dynamic equations gov...

Numerical investigation on Effect of thermally isolated piston on improving SI engine performance during the cold start conditions

In low ambient temperatures the engine will have poor output torque and power generation at the first cycles of its performance, long start time and huge noxious emissions because of insufficient temperature and quality of air-fuel mixture and failure of flame to burn the charge. It is noted that any attempt to increase the charge temperature leads to better combustion conditions. By applying t...

Behavioral study of piston manufacturing plant through stochastic models

Piston plays a vital role in almost all types of vehicles. The present study discusses the behavioral study of a piston manufacturing plant. Manufacturing plants are complex repairable systems and therefore, it is difficult to evaluate the performance of a piston manufacturing plant using stochastic models. The stochastic model is an efficient performance evaluator for repairable systems. In...
